Nina van Schaick
Nina is a midwife with over 12 years of clinical experience, dedicated to improving birth and breastfeeding outcomes. Her career spans hospital settings, community teams, and independent practice, where she combines evidence-based expertise with compassionate care.
A graduate of the Oxford Brookes University Midwifery programme (2012), Nina was awarded the Wellbeing of Women grant in 2010 to fund a placement in Haiti, reflecting her commitment to maternal health. Since 2018, she has focused on independent practice, bringing strong organisational skills, initiative, and natural communication abilities to her leadership role at Peripear.
Eviatar Natan PhD
Eviatar is a strategic leader and scientist with deep expertise in turning early-stage concepts into successful ventures. With a PhD from the University of Cambridge and research experience at MIT and the University of Oxford, he brings a strong academic foundation to his entrepreneurial pursuits.
Eviatar has over a decade of experience leading healthcare startups, where his knowledge of operations, finance, and R&D has been pivotal in driving growth. Julia Lopez
Julia brings deep technical expertise in hardware development across FemTech, MedTech, and consumer devices. Most recently Director of Hardware at Kelvin Systems, she led the design of modular smart radiator covers, reducing fulfilment timelines by 5 months and cutting costs by 15%. At VotingWorks, she delivered seven iterations of complex, full-size prototypes in just nine months, designed to rigorous federal standards. Previously at Dame Products, she managed a lean team to bring four CE-compliant electromechanical devices to market, reducing defects and improving cost of goods by 30%. Megan has made a strong impact at Peripear-doubling LinkedIn followers, launching Instagram and a newsletter, and leading branding rollout. She brings experience from a Civil Service internship and her role as a Trustee at Renaissance UK, where she champions inclusive, health-focused communication.
Aida Zibaite
Aida is Peripear’s admin superhero, with 15+ years of experience across hospitality, property, IT, and startups. With a BSc in Computer Science, she has supported executives, managed projects, overseen office moves and system migrations, and led operations for fast-paced initiatives. Her diverse skills and proactive approach keep Peripear running smoothly, enabling leadership to focus on innovation in maternal health.
Rebecca Soloman
Rebecca is leading Peripear’s U.S. go-to-market strategy, focused on regulatory, reimbursement, and hospital adoption pathways. She recently completed her MBA at the University of Oxford, where she served as an Investment Director for the Oxford Seed Fund, evaluating and investing in early-stage healthtech ventures. Prior to Oxford, Rebecca spent four years in Accenture’s healthcare practice, advising public health agencies and private payers on strategy, digital health adoption, and change management, while securing multimillion-dollar funding to support program improvement. She brings deep expertise in healthcare commercialization, stakeholder engagement, and scaling early-stage innovations in complex, regulated markets.
Susanna Kallioine
Susanna is a clinical lecturer providing academic insight to the team, joining the team under a highly competitive Zinc fellowship scheme. She is a radiologist, a PhD-accredited researcher, and an expert in clinical trials development. She has a spectrum of clinical research expertise from early clinical trial development to phase III clinical trials. She has been involved in successfully bringing new diagnostic devices into clinical practice, making her a vital asset on Peripear’s journey to success
Sophie Martin
Sophie is an experienced midwife, as well as the author of ‘The Infertile Midwife’. She brings hands-on clinical expertise to bridge healthcare professionals and FemTech innovation. With a strong background in maternity care and patient engagement, Sophie fosters partnerships between Peripear and NHS stakeholders to integrate cutting-edge solutions into clinical pathways. Her experience in care coordination and frontline services ensures patient-centred approaches drive product development and adoption, improving maternal health outcomes. Sophie’s clinical insight and commitment to collaboration make her a vital link between Peripear and the NHS.
Abdul Sultan
Abdul H Sultan is a Consultant Obstetrician and UroGynaecologist with a special interest in Pelvic Floor and Anal Sphincter Dysfunction at Croydon University Hospital, London. He is Honorary Reader at St George’s University of London and Hon. Professor at Brunel University of London. His research involved studying the effects of childbirth on the anal sphincters. This led to a landmark paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine and to a Doctorate. His pioneering work highlighted the deficiencies in the training of doctors and midwives in detecting and repairing obstetric injuries to the anal sphincter.
He is the co-director of a tertiary referral urogynaecology Unit at Croydon University Hospital with subspecialty training and has an active research programme. He has over 250 publications in journals and textbook chapters. He has co-produced the first comprehensive textbook on perineal and anal sphincter trauma (2007 and 2024) and published the textbook on Pelvic Floor Disorders (2021). He is the co-director of the popular Perineal Trauma and Pelvic Floor Ultrasound courses since 2000. He has been awarded the prestigious overall “UK Hospital Doctor of the Year” award and is the recipient of the Croydon Medical Society Lifetime Achievement Award, the British Society of Urogynaecology Lifetime Achievement Award, and the RCOG Travelling Sims Black Professorship. He is the past IUGA Obstetric Pelvic Floor and OASIS Special Interest Group chair (2023-2025) and the current IUGA Scientific Chair.
